The Suyo table is the latest product form New York based designer McKay Nilson, and is being manufactured by masters in the 3D lighting space—Gantri. Not only did Gantri include this lamp in the latest line of releases, but they’ve launched an entirely new color line to breathe a bit of color into some of their products.

The design is the result of an exploration into our emotional connections with the objects we surround ourselves with. The light has an open base and bowed head, mimicking the physical gesture of one person giving something to another.

Gantri wanted me to check out the Suyo lamp in the new Coral color, so that’s what you’re seeing here.  It’s been 3D printed in California, using eco-friendly corn-based materials.

My favorite part of the design isn’t the container at the base that can be used for displaying simple items, but rather how the LED and top of the lamp gracefully join and align. It’s a small thing, but something I can’t recall seeing a lot of lamp designs doing.

As with all of Gantri products, the LED light is dimmable using a small controller that’s attached to the cable. The light can range from a soft glow to bright light, depending on the needs of the room. If you're looking for more Gantri products, I've also done a review on the Paris Table Light and the Orbit.

The Suyo is available in Coral, Fog and Snow, and sits about 21” high.
