The Hollow Light is a medium-sized table lamp that emits a soft, atmospheric light. Its generous size and simple geometric shape give it a friendly character. When viewed from an angle, the perceived weight of the body reveals that the illuminated glass cylinder is actually hollow and contains no light source.
The base of the lamp houses all of the electronic hardware and encloses the glass cylinder. It also contains a recessed light source. The light emitted passes through the cylinder and is refracted on its satin-finished inner surface, creating a pleasant glow.
One of the main aims of the Hollow Light is to highlight the omnipresence of light. It uses light to enhance form and create a sense of wonder by demonstrating its ability to saturate a translucent form.
